Every visit starts with a $100 diagnostic. It covers the trip, a full diagnosis and a written quote. If you go ahead, the $100 is credited toward labour. If you don’t, it’s all you pay. Parts are priced separately and listed on the quote before any work starts.

Many jobs finish on the first visit, like a Samsung SUD error we cleared by opening the drain line and recalibrating. When a part has to be ordered, we come back to fit it. Repairs are covered by our 3-month parts and labour warranty, with extended guarantee options available (see our terms).
Most washer repairs in Calgary fall between $180 and $450 all-in, before GST. On our recent Calgary invoices the median repaired washer job was about $300. The $100 diagnostic gets you an exact quote before any work starts.
On the Samsung washers we see in Calgary, the most common serious fault is a warped inner drum on an older front-loader. The machine bangs and rattles through the spin. Drain problems come next: a drain trap that has never been cleaned, or a loose drain-filter plug dripping under the machine. Samsung doesn’t publish a lifespan figure. The warped-drum failures that usually end a Samsung front-loader have shown up on machines about 7 to 10 years old in our jobs. Past that age, a major fault usually means replacing it.
Often, if the fault is a single part such as the heater. Before we replace a heater, we measure the outlet: a dryer that tumbles but won’t heat is sometimes missing part of its 240 V supply, and fixing that is an electrician’s job.

We repair current and older Samsung models. Have the model number ready when you book. Its first letters tell us the type: RF for French-door fridges, RS for side-by-side, WF and WA for front-load and top-load washers, DV for dryers and DW for dishwashers.
French-door and side-by-side fridges. A known Samsung complaint is an ice maker that freezes solid, where the fill tube above the mould ices over and production stops. Front-load and top-load washers. We’ve cleared an SUD error by opening up the drain line and recalibrating, tightened a leaking drain-filter plug, and cleaned out a drain trap with years of build-up. Electric and gas dryers. No heat is the usual call. On a Samsung we repaired, a shorted heater coil made the dryer swing between overheating and not heating at all, and a new heater case assembly fixed it. We check the outlet voltage first. See our dryer repair Calgary page.

We quote before we fix, and we’ll tell you when a Samsung isn’t worth repairing. Our rule of thumb: repair when the appliance is under about 8 to 10 years old and the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new unit.
